Mughal rule
Gujarat was conquered by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1572-73.As whole Gujarat was surrendered to him without any resistance.Akbar was invited by the ruler of AHMEDABAD Etimad kha.grand celebration was thrown to welcome the King Akbar and all of the AHMEDABAD was invited.
--> Akbar nominated his cousin brother Mirza Azizkoka as an administrator and AHMEDABAD came under the rule of the Mughal kingdom.
--> Some rebels started protesting so the than administrator called King akbar and he rushed to AHMEDABAD from Agra(900+ kms) in just 9 day which was very fast as the transportation depends on animals during that time .
--> Fatehbag was build during Mughal era which still exist.
--> King Jahagir also visited ahemdabad during 1618 and established Tankshal(that’s why tankshal ni pol near kalupur) during his visit. Although he did not like the city as he faced lot of hit during his journey but he liked the Kankariya and stayed there for 3 days and celebrated his 50th birthday here.
--> Shahjaha was appointed as administrator of the city,it tells the importance of AHMEDABAD all the mughal King after Akbar has worked as Administrator of AHMEDABAD in early days.
During the Mughal reign, AHMEDABAD became one of the empire's thriving centers of trade, especially in textiles, which were exported as far as Europe. Jehangir, son of Akbar, visited AHMEDABAD in 1617 but did not like it and called it Gardabad, the city of dust. Shahjahan spent the prime of his life in the city, and also built the Moti Shahi Mahal in Shahibaug.
• After Aurngzeb the Mughal kings became weaker and the administrators of the different states started functioning as king.
